Guest Writers

So, you have something great you want to write, but you don't know where to start.

Here's a few tips and tricks I recommend for guest writers on The Maze:

Writing Requirements:
1.     Get a feel of some of my previous writings, if this is your first time submitting, and see where that takes you. You may find inspiration there.
2.     Make your title attractive and entertaining. Nothing vulgar, but funny and enlightening, such as
a.     “10 Ways to Express Love without Saying a Word”
Or      “3 Scriptures that Will Change Your World!”
3.     Make your writing personal. It doesn’t matter the “what” that you’re writing about if your reader never understands the “why” that you’re writing.
4.     BE VULNERABLE! Don’t be comfortable giving some fluffy story about how you lost your dog.
5.     Nothing previously posted elsewhere.
6.     The writing limit doesn’t matter, but make sure you’re not too long, around 500-700 words. As my pastor always says, “You don’t have to be everlasting to be eternal.”
7.     Remember the goal and purpose of the “why” you’re writing. Be so proud of what you’re writing that you’ll be willing to share it with the world, because you’re a great writer!
8.     Keep your grammar and spelling in check! Organization is key, so if you have bullet points, much sure everything is nice and neat!
